THE INSTITUTE FOR SECURITY STUDIES AND DEVELOPMENT-NORTH MACEDONIA (ISSDNM)

The Institute for Security Studies and Development- North Macedonia (ISSDNM) is an institute for security studies with a non-partisan and non-ideological orientation. The ISSDNM is based in Tearce-Tetovo, North Macedonia, with the scope of analyzing and reporting security events in the Western Balkans. Through our programs, reports, and analyses, ISSDNM observes the security trends and transformations with features that are important imperatives for the region.

The mission of the institute is the implementation of programs for local, national, and regional development in the field of security and peacebuilding: strengthening the rule of law, professional development of the media, cooperation on interethnic plans, and improvement of the security system. The organization will strive in the field of strengthening security and peace, at all levels with NATO member states, as well as with candidate countries in the European Union and outside. The mission of the institute is to strengthen the democratic values of institutions at local, national, and regional levels. Also, the field of security studies is primary for the institute.

We specialize in COUNTERING VIOLENT EXTREMISM (CVE), DISINFORMATION, and political / security analyses in North Macedonia and the Balkans.

Our mission is to prevent radicalization and build resilience. As an institute, we provide insights, studies, products, intelligence reports, and geopolitical monographs that matter for public opinion, institutions, government, policymakers, and corporations.

We use a unique methodology in analyzing critical security trends. Through facts, the Institute for Security Studies and Development- ISSDNM, publishes the most reliable scientific information about developments in N. Macedonia and the Western Balkans. Our Institute sees security, integration, and development as key components of a stable democracy and civil society.

Our research approach anticipates a broad scope of plausible outcomes by assessing today’s issues, analyzing trends, and identifying the issue ‘next’, using the unique operational and policy expertise of our analysts.

Within the Institute is also active the ISSDMacedonia HUB SPOT, which is an Analytical and News Platform. ISSDMacedonia HUBSPOT is the strategic-level study agent with emphasis on geopolitical analysis which covers via interviews and analyses the latest security, political, and geopolitical developments in the Balkans and foreign affairs. The Analytical Platform analyses a wide range of issues, ranging from geopolitics, security, energy, cyber, natural resources, interethnic relations, and disinformation. ISSDNM analyses are written and edited by the staff of ISSDNorthMacedonia. Each month several analyses and interviews are published in Albanian and English language.
