By Blerim Abedini, ISSD-NM – Western Balkan trade exchange for a decade period of time gives us an understanding of the increasing level of change during the economic transition after the Cold War. Third decade of transition appears improving trade exchanges with major states and states belonging to rest of world. Fourth decade will show us improving of trade exchanges as these trends were shown in 1990 and downgrading as the impact of the Cold War and two types of inherited economic systems which are socialist and capitalist economies.
North Macedonia have more trade exchange with EU than other major economies or rest of World.
Albanian trade exchange is similar with major economies Turkiye, EU and China.
Kosovo has significantly better trade exchanges with EU than other competitive states.
Montenegro have more trade exchange in products and services with EU than rest of major economies.
Also, Bosnia and Herzegovina have significantly higher trade exchange with EU states than other major economies.
Serbia have higher trade exchange with EU than China, Turkiye and Russia.
Globaly, in Western Balkan countries Serbia is first ranked with trade exchange of products and services. Second is Bosnia, third is North Macedonia followed by Albania, Kosovo and Montenegro.
